Updates for the 2024 - 25 school year

Hi all!

My schedule for the next school year is good to go. Instead of teaching every other week, I’ll be teaching almost every week!

There will be two separate classses, which are “Electronics with Brian” and “Coding MicroPython with Brian”. Both classes will start assuming you have no knowledge of coding or electronics. However, since we have almost twice as much time, both classes will go deeper than previous years and should remain interesting for returning students.

What is MicroPython? It is the full Python 3 programming language designed to run on tiny computers.

My getting organized class is on September 3, 2024.

The deadline to order kits in time for this class is August 3, 2024.
Please note: No kits will be shipped between September 9 – 30, 2024

Date and Time for “Getting Organized Class”: September 3, 2023 9:00AM (Pacific)
Date of first class: October 8, 2024 9:00AM (Pacific)

Course Name: Coding MicroPython with Brian (Unit 29)
FutureVision Research Kit: Sensors, Motors, and More – Version 2 (if you ordered Sensors, Motors, and More (formerly Programming Hardware Essentials), then you just need this supplement kit.
Additional Required Items: Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040, and a Windows, Apple, or Linux computer
Date and Time for “Getting Organized Class”: September 3, 2023  11:00AM (Pacific)
First day of class: October 10, 2024 9:00AM (Pacific)

Recorded Classes

The full year of “Coding Arduino with Brian” is available under Unit 28. This course is organized by month and uses the Electronics Essentials Kit. You will also need an Arduino Uno R3 and USB cable.
